In my experience with working with clients I have found the real change started to happen one they have take a decision that it’s enough; ‘I chose to not live the life like this anymore’. They all come to a point where they know that until and unless they do something about this life will become unbearable to life. So if you are really want to take the decision to change just follow this process few times.
Step 1 – Pick up an area of your life where you know you need to take the decision to change now. Any further delay and this pattern of life is going to destroy you. Say you are in a relationship that is emotionally abusive but you can’t seem to take the decision to leave it.
Step 2 – Think of 5-6 events in the relationship where you felt you were treated really-really bad in the relationship.
Step 3 – Sit in a quiet place facing a wall and just relax.
Step 4 – Imagine a screen on the wall.
Step 5 – Now watch each event on the screen one after the other.
Step 6 – Initially spend time on each event. Feel the emotions completely.
Step 7 – Now increase the speed of this combined movie. You will start feeling worse and worse as you will feel the multiple of emotions at the same time.
Step 8 – As you keep increasing the speed of the movie and subsequent increase of emotions in the body, there will come a time when you will say to yourself – Enough-Is-Enough.
Step 9 – Sit with this feeling and take the decision to change.
In the next few days you will see things changing in your life. You will not feel the same connection with the person. Those emotions of push and pull will be reduced. And finally you will see yourself responding and not reacting with this person.
